ICV Update - September 14, 2009

Dear Friends and Members:

ICV was honored this past month by being asked to speak to the National
Organization of Victims Assistance (NOVA) annual convention held in
Scottsdale, Arizona. Over 600 attended this important meeting with
participants from various organizations around the U.S. plus six other
countries. Laurie Dishman and myself made the presentation at one of the
workshops concerning the history of ICV. The title page above shows how a
group of volunteer victims could change an industry through their efforts.

The title of the presentation was "From Tragedy to the White House." An
interesting highlight from the meeting occured during our presentation when
someone left the room and later returned stating that her reason for leaving
was to cancel a cruise she had planned in celebration of her 40th wedding
anniversary.

The success of ICV is due to the dedication of our members and their
willingness to share their stories, support other new victims, and spread
the word through the media and trips to Washington. This has been done at
the members own expense and efforts. I can truly say that what ICV has done
has gained the attention of organizations around the country that operate
often with paid staff and have been doing so for many, many years.

With Congress back in session, ICV has been in contact with Washington. The
feedback we are getting is very positive and we are most hopeful that the
final steps of having our legislation passed by the full House and Senate
appears to be very much on track. Hopefully, this will happen very soon and
we will keep you advised.

As the world changes, ICV is also changing. For those on Facebook or
Twitter, you can now get continuous updates on what is happening. Click on

appreciated. IVC is tax qualified as a 501c3. Contributions are tax
